Could iTunes give us our favourite HBO progs at flexible prices?

HBO and i-Tunes_edited-1.jpg

There's a rumour going around at the moment that HBO might start selling TV shows on the US iTunes at variable prices. This means the price of TV shows will be based on whether it's a new release or old news rather than just all being dumped into the same pricing bracket.

As it stands, both TV shows and music are sold at fixed prices. So buying an old episode of Entourage is the same as buying the latest instalment. Doesn't seem fair does it? Yes it makes it all very simple for the (simple) consumer, but when I go into a shop such as HMV, the old movies are cheap and the latest movies are sold at a higher price - this is how it should be. This is the same premise iTunes should be working with. Fingers crossed for it coming true eh.
