Sadly I recently had my bag nicked. As did my colleague last week. Oh, and another one a couple months ago. Maybe it’s a London thing, but there do seem to be a lot if opportunists out there, and so many bags get stolen every year that it just gets depressing to think about it. Maybe you should just strap your important possessions to your chest, geeky traveller stylee, or maybe you should invest in a Light bag. Look at it this way, most of your prized possessions will fetch zero on the market (battered Filofax anyone?) but mean sooo much to you. Hopefully the thief will just chuck your bag when he’s taken out the valuables, and you can then recover it detective-techie style by using its GPS to locate it.

Each LightBag is designed to look like a designer bag (OK, it’s a FAKE), but they are very attractive and made with real leather, and come in a variety of styles. But best of all, they each come with a GPS TRACKING DEVICE! When you buy the bag you get two months for free, and then the charge is $15 a month. The GPS is built into the bag, so it can’t be removed and can be accessed remotely if your bag ever goes a wandering. The system is so sophisticated that you can even locate if the thief is smart enough to turn it off, since you can over ride that externally.

As well as this it has a personal alarm, internal lights and a beacon which is on continually and picks up signals as long as the battery lasts. A must have fr people who value their purses and spying parents everywhere.

Starting at $30 from Lights Bags

Like that? See here for more covers and bags.

Okay, thanks Nancy and everyone, I’ve just fired off a message to the owner of Lightbags to see if they can defend their reputation from the claims you make. In the meantime, looks sensible to give the website a wide berth. I’ll update when I hear back from them.
