Nokia's new music-minded phones - the XpressMusic 5220 and 5320

xpressmusic.jpgAfter telling us they were all over gaming with the N-Gage releases this month, Nokia have added another string to their bow in the form of these new XpressMusic handsets. The 5320 is the exciting one, featuring HSDPA, dedicated N-Gage gaming keys, a 3.5mm headphone jack and memory expandable to 8GB. The best bit is Say and Play, which allows you to say an artist of a track name, rather than manoeuvring menus. I'll be interested to see how it copes with The Clik Clik vs The Ting Tings...

The 5220 expands memory to 2GB, but lacks the connectivity of its older siblings. What it lacks in HSDPA it makes up for in lights. Flashing rhythmical lights in time with the music, to be exact.

Both handsets will be available in the third quarter of this year, so we've a while to wait.

Nokia also announced that Sony BMG has joined their Comes With Music service. This allows anyone who buys a XpressMusic device access to the catalogue for a year. At the end of that year, you get to keep the tracks or transfer them to another (presumably Nokia) compatible device, which all seems like a pretty good deal. This service will be available in the second half of this year.
