New Myspace application will make your page look a right mess

Last week, MySpace announced the public beta launch of the Application Gallery. Sounds exciting if you're a regular MySpace user doesn't it? Unfortunately, it's quite the opposite. The application allows users to browse applications and integrate them into their MySpace home page and profile. The ultimate aim is to give users a more engaging and entertaining online experience.

Unfortunately and very annoyingly, this will only serve to congest the page with tooooo much information. Find out why over the jump.

• The MySpace.com home page will feature an Application Gallery icon at the top of the page, so users can easily be directed to the Gallery
• Users will have one-click access to the Application Gallery from their home page through their individual Control Panels
• The Application Gallery splash page has featured apps in a bid to further promote applications and support developers

The Applications Gallery features more than 1,000 approved applications (talk about overcrowded) in a range of categories ranging from music, politics and causes, quizzes and polls, video and much more (obviously). Some MySpace pages already have the tendency to look over-crowded, so giving users more freedom to pile in more info is surely a wrong move? The saying less is more springs to mind.
