It must be hard working in the marketing department of a record company at the moment. No sooner does someone break the news that the internet is here to stay, someone goes and tells you that this week it's all about computer games. Luckily, whoever is in charge of Def Leppard's marketing budget is all over that shiz, with the news that their latest single is to be debuted on Guitar Hero III.

The single, 'Nine Lives' will be made available on April 24th on Xbox Live and May 8th on the PS3 store. Joe Elliot, the lead singer, says "Guitar Hero is extremely popular with all kinds of music heads, which includes a lot of our fans, and we think releasing 'Nine Lives' this way first is just fantastic!"

Doesn't that sound exactly like the kind of thing this one time-poodle haired rocker might say? I can see it now. "Joe, what do you think of your single being debuted on a computer game, rather than the more traditional, radio playing method? Do you think it devalues your craft to nothing more than a cereal box giveaway, or do you think something else?"

"Fantastic" says he.
