It's a story as old as the hills. Demand for product is built up to frenzy levels, midnight launch plan is hatched, happy new owner gets mugged on way back from store. When will people learn that they just need to pre-order online??
A teenager was mugged in Manchester after being followed home from the launch, resulting in a broken jaw and nose. And worse was the man who jumped out of the queue in Croydon, stabbing a man (who he apparently knew) who was walking past. This is great news for those arguing that this uber-violent game incites violence in players.
Midnight launches always make brilliant media stories, and the cynic in me thinks that even stories like these only prove to reinforce the perception of demand with the public. But really, is it worth it? Just wait til a fifteen year old gets mugged for a copy they bought with fake ID - then we'll really see some fun.
