Philips GoGear SA52 decrapifies compressed MP3 files

sa52.jpgPhilips believe they've found a gap in the market, and it's one they're aiming to fill. The new GoGear SA52 MP3 player is aimed at those who want a personal media player which creates a 'symphony-like experience' rather than the slightly shoddy experience of your average compressed MP3 file.

I won't even begin to tell you about the argument I had with a Philips Man here in Lisbon last night about how many people truly care about that kind of thing, but I digress.

The SA52 uses their Full Sound technology which takes the compressed file and adds sonic enhancements, so that it sounds like you're listening to the uncompressed i.e. CD quality version.

There will be MP3, AAC and WMA playback as well as FM radio, and WMV video files woll also be viewable. There will be 4GB of storage, as well as a 2.8-inch screen and 25 hours video playback.
