James Dyson has presented the Brit Insurance Design Award 2008 to Yves Béhar's One Laptop Per Child.
From a shortlist of 100 designs, the panel of of expert judges including Alison Moloney, Rolf Fehlbaum, Lars Müller, Antonio Citterio and Daniel Weil chose the OLPC as overall winner thanks to its aims, aspirations for low-cost production and "ergonomic, robust and fun design" that aids children's learning and communication.
If you want to see the teeny laptop and the contenders it beat off they're on display at the first even Brit Insurance Designs of the Year exhibition at the Design Museum until the 27th of April. Now, let's see if I can get the word 'design' into this point one more time...
