We knew the mixtape wasn't gone. Just think of all those gadgets like the Mix Tape USB; we're just not ready to let this one day. Muxtape is next in line to hop on the retro bandwagon with a website that lets you create playlists of your own uploaded content.
There are some drawbacks - each playlist is limited to 12 songs - especially in an age where Last.fm and the like make it easy to share playlists already, but, as My Chemical Toilet's Stuart Waterman points out, it could be a good way of sharing stuff that's not readily available online. Plus it's all the 80s geeky nostalgic gimmickry you could possibly want, minus the DJ voices.
