Use-Thing: A THING for privacy. I think.

use-thing.jpgHmmm. Uncertainty blogging is interesting. I know there is a gadget at the heart of all this; I even have a picture of it. And I think it's some sort of privacy bubble that protects you from the noisy world around, but I'm not entirely sure if that's all there is to it. It's also a THING, or so the (Google Translated) website tells me:

There are things between heaven and earth, invisible things, the things you do not talk to us not acceptable and things of which we still can not get enough. There are things that you just can not buy. But there are also things that are not what they seem. And there are things that do not exist. And then there are much more important things - things that are essential: courage, love and THING.

That's cleared that up, then.

The use-thing is a thing, presumably of use. It seems to be a personal space-protecting helmet that might just stop all those irritable souls pouring their hearts out to the Metro letters page about women doing their makeup on the tube. Pop one of these on their heads and they won't be able to see it, hear those irksome teenagers spew their music to the carriage, or indeed know exactly where they are. Apparently it's constructed of eco-friendly material and comfy to wear, insofar as "comfy" does not include being laughed at.

The use-thing website is actually a massive teaser designed to direct you to the D'Art Design Group's stand at Euro 2008 in Dusseldorf towards the end of the month. In the meantime they've provided a handy video about fried eggs and the Wankdorf Stadion.
