I love inventive press releases. It keeps me entertained to read about a study of 2,000 movie lovers conducted by LG and Empire Magazine for a full minute before I pay attention to why that's relevant to consumer electronics. I'm not being sarcastic, either.
Apparently LG's new range of entertainment monitors are focussing on the "dark" side, providing colour shading and contrast ratio of 10,000:1 for home viewing clarity. But, since that's all LG's telling us about that, let's focus on the fact that Empire readers' favourite "dark" movie is Psycho and their best beloved "dark" actors are Angelina Jolie and Anthony Hopkins. Completing the trio of people whose names begin with A, Alfred Hitchcock is the most influential "dark" director. That's "dark". Not just dark. And yet no mention of Star Wars which for Empire is bloody amazing.
