Here's a little gem to add to your unused, desk cluttering word-a-day calendar: 'capacious'. Use it to wow your friends as you tell them about Escient's latest foray into the media server market - the Vision series. The VX-600 boasts an impressive 4 terabytes of disk space, leaving more than enough room for your other half's rubbish films (even Rambo 3 and Dirty Dancing). It'll even automatically strip all trailers and pre-movie blurb, saving you from five minutes of adverts for Steven Segal's latest straight-to-DVD adventure, whilst keeping the menus and bonus features intact. Escient have included the customary nod to Apple, with seamless iPod integration to wirelessly transmit music directly to the server, as well as a Cover Flow-esque menu system. There's even a month's free subscription to the Rhapsody music service for easy access to 5 million songs.

Available this Easter, the 1TB VS-100 player/server will retail at £2999, with the 2TB VS-200 at £3999. The monstrous VX-600 server is proportionally priced at £5499, with the standalone players at £1499 each.
