Damn... Just as I review a 300GB external hard drive and comment on its relatively high storage, Buffalo offer us an embarrassment of portable riches in a smaller case.
The 500GB (or half-terabyte, if you're an optimist) 2.5" drive is the next in the series of MiniStation TurboUSB drives we've looked at before. Less sleek in looks than the SimpleTech pininfarina or Fujitsu HandyDrive models, but generally smaller and just as easy to use and supposedly turbo-charged for quick access.
The MiniStation range is compatible with Windows 2000+ and Mac OSX (including Leopard and its Time Machine auto-backup system). Despite the diminutive size, there's a tough, armoured protective case and wrap around cable clip to make it a practical choice for the back ups we know we should do...
It's available from a range of online retailers including Amazon, Dabs and Play.com for £207, or there's a 400GB version for £155 excluding VAT but including a limited two year warranty.

I can't find it, and their website only shows up to 320GB, shame because I was going to get a 500GB if they had it!
So I've been researching this one. I think it's a different HD they came out w/in the 500GB, and they JUST came out w/a 360GB version of the MiniStation. Such a shame, really wanted a 500 for my NZ trip...
