I've mentioned before my lack of interest in Facebook applications, and how I feel they are bastardizing what used to be a pure and beautiful networking site (sigh). However in recent times I have been tempted by one, and one only, application. This would be the might of Scrabulous, the app that lets you play games with your mates and exudes a sense of power as you topple them with a high word score. But no longer can this dream of triple letter points and saucy anagrams continue as Hasbro and Mattel, the makers of Scrabble have contacted Facebook asking them to remove it. 'Mattel values its intellectual property and actively protects its brands and trademarks', they say. Huh. No word so far from the Facebook side of things but I predict a bunch of 'Save Scrabulous' groups starting up. Who do you think will win, the corporation or the little people?
