We're all for recycling, which is why we enjoy a daily dose of Hippyshopper. This week our favourite eco-blog showed us how to make our cat comfy, use up our old tech and perhaps set the stage for a real life LOL cat show.
Oh, come on, am I the only one imagining sticking LOL cat labels to the outside of this catbed*? Mind you, I'd probably rather make my own - if I didn't have all flatscreens - than shell out the $110 charged by enterprising Etsy manufacturer Alpine, despite the custom-fitted pillows.
*Please allow room for the cat to get in and out. Or get a fake cat.

Hey thanks, for including my art in your post!! I know the $110, feels steep to me too... especially for things that people are throwing out. I was surprised at the cost I had to pay to make sure non of the guts ended up in the landfill. (they can be really toxic... please, please, don't throw your old TV's & Monitors to the curb.) Every one of these I "save"... puts me in the hole... and then their is just time & energy & a little creativity... problem is I don't think I'll be able to mass produce, bring the price down & still stick to my recycling principles :-) Sigh.
Have fun making one... You'll be surprised how much your cat loves it :-) And yeah... the cat fits :-)
Careful though... Monitors & TV's have a capacitor & hold a charge. And the tube is a vacume(sp?), it can implode. Finally all of the glass is leaded.. Please make sure this is recyled properly.. (have i mentioned that?).

This is absolutely awesome! I used to envy a friend of mine because her cat spent all of its time on top of her CRT... Now I have a TFT and still no cat, so I was a bit dissapointed in not being able to have a 'computer cat' any time soon. It looks like my problem is solved :D
