Everything's blushing furiously on the run up to Valentine's Day, and now Dualit's in on the act with a rosy red range of kitchen classics. The DAB radio is probably the most exciting, as a toaster is a toaster is a toaster even if it is really pretty. The eight watt, four inch speakers have a large reflex baass port giving very decent sound quality for a kitchen radio.

If you do want a retro-chic toaster, the revamped red Vario should fulfill your longing, and there's even a ruby version of the Soft Touch Hand Mixer. This packs a 300 watt professional motor, five speed settings and a clutch of accessories. A word of advice to anyone thinking of presenting this to their girlfriend: use it to make cookies first and feed them to her in abundance before the presentation. That way she might just be too stuffed and sugar high to aim accurately at your head...

The toaster starts at £115 (2-slice), the radio is £149.99 and the hand mixer a budget-friendlier £45.
