It'll be securely waterproof down to 30 metres below the surface and although it has just 16MB of internal memory it can easily be expanded to 2GB by SD card.
Earthshattering camera spec? Not so much, but it's virtually unbreakable, and that's what you're paying your £99.99 for.

I wouldn't go so far as to say idiot proof. I rent these cameras out at water parks and have had quite a lot of problems including someone who took 160 images upside down and multiple people who take 60 minutes of video in the first 60 minutes when they think they have taken one picture. Aside from that it does take great images and videos, has a long battery life, and is the smallest camera I have dealt with.
