2007 was a good year for tech fiends, with everyone wanting a Wii (hey they were hard to get Dec 2006), loving the iPhone and enamoured by the ultra tiny Asus Eee PC mini laptop. Now we’re all decked out with this kit, we have to look further afield for our tech requirements, as other than upgrading my camera, I’m pretty much done.. for a while at least.

It being January and all I decided some beautifying was in order and was pleasantly surprised about just how helpful tech was in that respect. Unwanted hair? Zap it away with the the Tria laser hair home removal system. Unruly hair? Blast it dry with satin pro hairdyers that use satin ion technology or dry and straighten it with top of the range wet to dry hair straighteners. Love handles and bulges? The iLift will handle that. Fitness looking a little peaky? Try the Power Plate. And this is just the round up of last year’s beauty and fitness top rated. What will be in store for the new year, and what do I hope to see on shelves soon?

I recently received a press release about a potential competitor to the power plate, the Fit Vibe. It works on a similar principle, vibrating away your extra weight and toning you to boot (An in depth review will be here shortly). There’s also a range of new beauty tools that promise to reduce cellulite, give me better skin and even slough away that hard layer on my feet./ It all sounds very promising, but nonetheless, I want more.

It may seem like I’m asking a lot, but considering 2007 featured concepts such as checking your makeup via your mobile phone and applying your lippie with an LED lipstickbecoming a reality, I don’t really think I’m being too greedy. Hmm, now if I could have anything what would I like?

Dear Gadget Creators/God
Please, please in the new year of 2008 can you make these beauty dreams a reality?

1.Create a magic hair device that lets you change the colour of you hair quickly and without the use of dye. Women worldwide will buy this, I promise.
2.Rather than jiggling around on all these machines to fight flab, how about a fat eraser (and no, I don’t mean lipo). Wave some tech wand around and see fat melt? If that’s ok with you of course.
3.We ‘d like to receive a text message every time we have smudged make up/skirt tucked in knickers/spinach in teeth. Hey, there are satellites up there and if sat navs can sort out traffic problems, why not style issues?
4.Replacement robots for us on the days we don’t want to go into work.
5.Electrolysis that doesn’t hurt. Oh and why can’t we have hair removal lasers for darker skins?

Ok, now get to work. I’ll be watching...
