More news from the press conference in the form of some rather odd looking home theatre PCs. They’re a fairly unique squashed cyclinder shape and offer built-in DVR functionality capable of recording up to 50 hours of HD TV programming, as well as in-built Blu-ray players.
The more expensive model – the TP25 – now offers two external CableCARD compatible TV Tuners, which allows you to record one program while watching another. The Vaio TP25 and TP20 are set to cost in the region of $1,600 and $3,000 respectively. But, quel surprise, they're not being launched in the UK.
