Canon have released new of two MiniDV camcorders that will hit our stores in February. They both feature Canon's new advanced Zoom which combines the quality of a Canon video lens with a DIGIC DV processor, which gives us zoom ranges that extend to 45x magnification. the different models- the MD235 pictured above) and the MD205 cater to all needs, from mic input connectors to wide-screen recording.

The MD235 features megapixel CCD recording and a mike input, as well as a multi angle remote and a new quick start function, that powers up the camera in less than a second. There is also an LCD Video Light for shooting in poor conditions, whilst beginners will love the simple point and shoot mode for one click action.

The MD205 (above) is the MD235's little sister, smaller and precocious and not quite as smart, having a 36x zoom and no megapixel CCD recording, which makes it perfect for those who just want to use the basic settings and not get to complicated. The price is lower as well, and the camera is still miles ahead than other similarly priced offerings. Either way, with these MiniDV's you're going to be challenging Spielberg/You've Been Framed in no time at all.
