Canon's PowerShot range has seen a new infusion of models today with three A-series additions announced. The AA470 kicks off at entry level, followed by the A580 and A590.
At 7.1 megapixels, the A470 might sound meagre compared to double-megapixel-figures but it really is all any amateur snapper who isn't planning on decorating the sides of buildings with print outs needs. As with the other two, it includes a 2.5" LCD screen, Canon's new blur reducing Motion Decetion Technology, Face Detection, white balance control and automatic red-eye correction. All three also have a feature new to the PowerShot A-series called Face Select & Track (does what it says on the tin).
If you fancy upping to 8 megapixels, the A580 is waiting in the wings and add on 4x optical zoom and image stabilisation and you're looking at the A590. All three will be available from March priced at £109 (A470), £139 (A580) and £159 (A590).
