Imagine if you were walking down the street, and suddenly there were voices in your head telling you to go and buy a Coke. What if Coke themselves had planted this voice in your head? The stuff 60's science fiction programmes are made of? Why no, just your average day in New York.
There is currently a billboard on Prince St (I say that like I know exactly where that is...) which uses hypersonic sound beams. These use whatever they hit as an amplifier, so when they hit your head, hey presto! A voice in your head, without any need for psychosis-inducing drugs.
It's advertising a paranormal TV show, but it can't be too long til Mr Jobs gets a whiff of it, and we're all queueing like loonies because the voice in our head has told us we must buy an iPhone... Oh.
