Waking up in the deepest part of your sleep cycle is the key to feeling groggy all day, and snapping at anyone who tries to speak to you. It's much better to emerge from your dreams naturally woken, through daylight, at the time when you're in a light sleep. But, how?

Well, get yourself this Natural Sleep Cycle watch, which uses an accelerometer to track small physiological changes that occur when you're in a light sleep. It then wakes you at the right moment. To make sure you don't wake late you can specify how long before your alarm it should start determining the best time - from 10 to 90 minutes before. It then wakes you with a gentle vibration or an alarm tone. Does it work? I have no idea. But it sounds fun.
