Nokia goes for sparkly luxury with the 8800 Arte and Sapphire Arte

nokia_arte-thumb.jpgNokia has launched a pair of premium fashion phones known as the 8800 Arte and 8800 Sapphire Arte. Both are 3G and have 2" OLED 16 million colour displays. They also pack 3.2 megapixel cameras that have 8 x digital zoom and autofocus. The integrated memory is 1GB with a microUSB connector.

Looks are paramount, with the shiny surface protected with anti-fingerprint coating. These really are in their spangly party frocks; the body is metal and glass and there's a hidden analogue clock which appears when you tap the phone. The Sapphire lives up to its name by incorporating a genuine precious blue stone and leather to the look. Elegance like this is unsurprisingly expensive. Expect to find the Arte going for 1000 EUR and the Sapphire Arte to the tune of 1150 EUR, in the fourth quarter of this year and the first quarter of next respectively.
