The internet has been ablaze this mornings with updates on the Finnish high school shooting which happened today, with all roads leading to YouTube. It appears the boy who committed the murders (so far one person has been confirmed dead) set up a YouTube channel just two weeks ago, and has since added 89 videos, with titles such as 'Just testing my gun' and 'antisocial aggression'.

The latest one, and the most disturbing, is entitled 'Jokela High School Massacre - 11/7/2007', which was added yesterday and features pictures of the high school, and a boy standing with a gun pointed towards the camera. A look at the profile of the person who calls himself Sturmgeist89 reveals that he regarded himself as an 'social darwinist' who would 'eliminate all who I see unfit". Favourite films included Natural Born Killers and The Shining, whilst a touch of poignancy is added when he also reveals that he was a fan of things like House and Monty Python - additions so mainstream you could find them on millions of profiles over the world.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragedy.
