I got a chance to run round the Natural History Museum with nothing but a photography tutor, a tank of ants, a fellow horde of journalists and one of these. And I LOVED it. Career change, here I come... Oh, hang on, I was rubbish. Still, the camera with its handy SteadyShot feature blur compensation feature, adjustable ISO of up to 3200, multiple shooting modes, straightforward interface and reassuring bulk was lovely. I particularly liked the "eye-ready" focussing that kicks in as soon as you look in the viewfinder thanks to a couple of little sensors. It's aimed at the fairly proficient amateur which is about fourteen grades better than I am but even so after half an hour or so I got the hang of it, so it really can't be that complicated.
