If we were a certain other blog, we'd use the cancer detecting bra as an excuse to post a picture of some breasts. Luckily, we're not, instead choosing something much less gratuitous.

The Smart Bra measures any irregular heat patterns in the breast, which can be a sign that a tumour is beginning to grow, since they demand an increase in blood flow. This then triggers an alarm, telling the wearer to get it checked out by a doctor. I'm guessing the alarm is slightly more sophisticated than a "woooooooooop, woooooooooooooop, woooooooooooop', since that might be slightly embarrassing if you're standing in the queue to buy your groceries. The technology isn't perfect yet, but the team behind it is hoping that this will come in time, and we'll all be able to swap our Wonderbras for our Smart Bras.
