Philips SA9345 flash MP4 player comes to town

mp4_player_philips.jpgPhilips has unleased a slim, sleek MP4 player on the UK public. 2GB and 4GB versions of the player are now available. To put that in perspective, some examples of what the 4GB player can hold are: 1,000 MP3 or 2,000 WMAs or 1,120 photos plus 7 hours of WMVs.

The 48g, 9cm long player also has an integrated FM radio and a 1.8" colour LCD screen - 0.2" smaller than the new iPod nanos. The interface includes touch-sensitive screen that allows you access your media through tapping, dragging or swiping your finger across it.

In addition you can scroll through an icon-based interface using backlit touchpads and Philips' SuperScroll navigation system. If you're not sure if your video is in the appropriate format, worry not as there's converter software provided, and the player bears the Microsoft PlayesForSure mark. The battery is a little on the weak side, delivering just 10 hours of music or two of video. The devices are available now for recommended prices of £99 and £129.
