Philips LX2000 Living Room PC is an affordable entertainment centre

living%20room%20pc.jpgThe Living Room PC from Philips aims to bring sub-£1K affordability to the living room without compromising on desirable features. It's got an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and runs Vista Premium on a 160GB hard drive and 1GB RAM. Now, 1GB doesn't sound nearly enough but I have seen a Vista UMPC run a presentation on just that without lagging or problems, and with other programs open in the background.

There's a digital TV tuner so that you can watch, pause and record live TV and make use of a programme syncing feature along the Sky Plus lines. Built into the slim black chassis is a DVD rewriter built in and it's WiFi enabled. Peripherals included are a wireless keybaord and mouse. Available now from PC World for £599.
