Maplin has launched a low-end, affordable high definition camcorder for the UK market. The High Definition Digital Video Camcorder is an eight megapixel, £199.99 camera which is neatly pocket sized.
There's a 2.4" reversible TFT LCD screen, SD and SDHC card support for extending the memory up to 32GB and 4 x digital zooom. You should get around two hours of recording time on a 4GB SD card, and there's also red-eye reduction and flash when using the still camera mode.
