Apple - warm and fuzzy feelings towards them, right? Hip? Cool? Approachable? All of those. What about evil? According to Brian Lam, editor of Gizmodo, Apple's latest move is "uncharacteristically evil".
It seems that anyone who has managed to get their iPhone unlocked from AT&T risks their phone freezing for good, and those who have downloaded third party apps have had those wiped off. All this has happened with Apple's latest iPhone update - useful for some, killer for others. And if you take your broken phone into an Apple store, you'll be met with a cold reception. Any tampering with the iPhone makes the warranty null and void. So, there's a warning there, people. Don't mess with the Apple. They'll eat you for breakfast (and charge you $399 for the pleasure).
