Alcatel and Mandarina Duck launch fashion handset collection

Alcatel has been quietly collaborating in the fashion world for some time, being responsible for the brawn behind the Elle Glamphone. Now it's teamed up with Mandarina Duck, purveyors of gorgeous handbags and laptop cases to produce three bright clamshells in Cherry Red, Lilac and Green.

The lightweight phones take their inspiration from a duck's bill (seriously) and represent Mandarina Duck's "core values of travel, irony and colour", apparently. They're part-glossy, part-rubberised and have bobbly little phone charms attached. Inside there's an MP3 player, camera, Bluetooth and a colour-coordinated display. You'll be able to get them from Carphone Warehouse early next month.
