SanDisk Sansa View PMP almost as thin as iPod Touch, costs less

sandisk_sansa_view_front_shot-thumb.jpgThe first thing you'll notice when you see the other pics of the Sansa View video MP3 player after the jump is that it's very slim. 8.8mm at the thinnest part, in fact. What you'll notice by reading the spec is that not only is the basic memory the same as the new iPod Touch options - 8GB and 16GB - but the built in microSD slot means expansion of up to another 8GB (it accepts newer microSDHC cards too). And it's likely to be a maximum of £200. Shall I keep talking?

Supported formats are MP3, WMA, WAV, WMV and MPEG-4 amonth others, and there's Sansa Media Converter software which will get your other formats into compatible shape if necessary. Rhapsody To Go, Napster and eMusic are all supported too. The 2.4" widescreen display has decent 320 x 240 resolution and you can listen to the digital FM radio as well as your own playlists. One battery charge should deliver 35 hours of listening or seven hours of watching video.

As yet, official UK prices have not been announced, with US prices likely to be $149.99 and $199.99. We're expecting around £150 and £200 here when this neat little PMP hits the shops in October.

So, how is the internet on this thing? And it was released when? At a price of ... ? Hmmm. Thin is good but just how small is it? And it works with in what ecology of after market goodies?

Apples and oranges much?

Well done sandifop for representing the 'gibbering Apple-fanboy' demographic there, it wouldn't be a news story about an mp3 player without you. Seriously, there's a reason people hate you idiots and here's a clue: it's not to do with jealousy...

I know things this side of the Atlantic cost a little more than via a direct exchange rate, but the View costing as many pounds as dollars would be a tad pricey even by our standards...

where do i get it? is it in stores yet???
