The new Treo 500v updates the previous models by packing 3G/UMTS mobile Internet and Windows Mobile 6 operating system in a rounded, elegant package faintly reminiscent of a BlackBerry Curve. Susi will be getting her hands on one later today, but the spec you can expect to hear about is as follows.
A full keyboard, large screen and video streaming capability make this a phone designed to browse and social network as much as to keep yourself organised. The usual push email, IM, SMS and calendar functionalities are all packed in, and since Microsoft itself has improved Windows Live Messenger for WM6, you can expect improvements there. There's Bluetooth, a 2.0 megapixel camera and 150MB of on-board memory, expandable by microSD card. The phone is available in "glacier white" and "charcoal grey" so it's clearly a fashion-orientated product too, much like the previous Treo Crimson. It'll be exclusively available on Vodafone UK next month.
