Microsoft behave not at all unreasonably, banning Halo 3 player from Xbox for 8,000 years.

You do not want to piss off Microsoft. They will get future on your ass. Oh yes.

One guy that grabbed a copy of the forthcoming Halo 3 found this out to his cost. Having obtained a copy aimed at developers, he jumped on Xbox Live to play. Except what does Xbox live do, kids? That's right - it identifies you to all and sundry by your user account. D'oh! Said gamer was immediately hauled up by MS, who has kiboshed his account until the year 10000. Why? Just 'cos they could (and perhaps to make a media-friendly Halo 3 story?). He can still play offline, or in fact go and buy himself a new console and account, although I'm wondering if this is enough to turn him into a PS3 fanboy...
