My husband's cat has pretty much three phrases: give me your wife's pearls because they look better on me (which they don't), I don't like soymilk in my coffee so what are you putting in that cup, and, what makes you think the mighty Bester can be confined to such a tiny catbox? So we don't need Meowlingual in this household. But if you find your own cat more opaque you may be very excited to hear that Japan's Takeda Co is about to bring out a cat interpretation gadget. It has a vocabulary of 200 phrases, of which apparently the top is, "I can't stand it". Takara has had considerable success with its Bowlingual dog interpreter, and inexplicably the Meowlingual's going to be cheaper. How little they understand cats already! $74. [Camille]
