Lilli and Oscar: ethical peripherals

When Hippyshopper featured these ethically produced computer peripherals we figured that Shiny Shiny girls would love them too. Even a miserable wench like me finds them cute, and we all have a conscience that needs prodding at now and again.

United Pepper's octoped 1.3 megapixel webcam, Lilli, and her starfish USB hub pal Oscar are made in an Oxfam-supported fairtrade workshop in vietnam using a high percentage of sustainable materials such as sand and paperboard. They're recyclable and until United Pepper can make the switch to biodegradable sources they do at least come in a 100% recycled package. Lilli is £30 and Oscar £20 (which is $60 and $40 as Dave rightly pointed out...), from October.

  • Ah, Dave... so used am I to converting dollars to pounds I applied the same principle. That's a "D'oh", "whoops" and "thank you" from me, then.

What, I know there is normally a bit of a rip-off when going from US dollars to Sterling but the UK price here is 4 times as much as the US price.

Or did you get the currency symbols transposed?
