Garmin has set its sites firmly on cyclists (hear that, Susi?) by launching two personal training GPS systems. They're rugged, handlebar-mounted devices that pack in travelling information such as climb, descent, altitude, speed and distance as well as the usual sat nav mapping and positioning features. The Edge 705 is available with and without a Heart Rate Monitor (499.99 EUR without, 549.99 EUR with) and the Edge 605 weighs in at a slightly kinder 399.99 EUR. Both have 2.2" colour displays but the Edge 705 has a handy wireless feature for swapping workout and location information with other Edge users. Available from December 2007.
