If you're one of those strange people who likes to escape the summer heat, or your outing is (more realistically) rained off, consider staying in with a clutch of DVDs and a Yamaha Digital Sound Projector. The YSP produces 5.1 channel sound to turn your little living room into an altogether more cinematic space.
There's only one speaker, so if you found setting up surround sound speakers was too much faffing and wiring for your liking there won't be any of that. Just plug the long, flat YSP into your TV and you're good to go. Just, please, if you're my neighbours, stop watching goddamn Gladiator. I hated the film and Hans Zimmer is too bathetic for me.
