The Merian Scout Navigator has just launched in Germany, but no doubt we'll be seeing it even closer to home soon. It combines a handheld GPS unit with an AudioGuide delivering information about points of interest in your area so you can literally have a guide with you wherever you go (a sort of optional Sherpa, if you will. Or maybe not). The 3.7" VGA touchscreen, NAVTEQ maps of Europe and traffic updates are probably pretty handy too. The current German price translates to £520 in the UK, so expect to shell out for your portable guide.
