Now you can browse Laterooms.com's stripped down, simple mobile site, search quickly by area and price and get an instant list of what's available at that very moment. A couple of clicks and a quick call confirms your booking, which adds the security of hearing a real, live person reassuring you that everything has gone through.
“Whether you’re away from home either for leisure or on business, all a booker needs is the basics to hand when looking for a hotel – price and availability,” said Tony Walsh, Development Director, LateRooms.com. “Our mobile service is designed specifically around these two factors to ensure bookers get what they need with the least amount of effort.”
LateRooms have gone to some trouble to ensure that the service is for everyone. When I met with Tony Walsh he explained that while it might have been conceptually great to include services like GPS and maps, if a last minute mobile service takes an age to download and alienates customers who don't have fast connections or a lot of technical knowledge, then it's simply not useful. There are no graphics on the new site, and common business destinations are listed as links on page one to speed up the search even further. This inclusive approach, using older but reliable and accessible technology, is bound to be what makes services like this a success.
