Prototype of the week: 'Footloose' shoe switches from flat to high heel

I must have tried on twenty pairs of shoes yesterday before finding one that didn't make my toes feel like they were being extruded by a pasta maker - and even still, they're gorgeous, but seriously not versatile. I would love the alternative offered by Marte den Hollander's Footloose adjustable heel. She "designed a shoe with a high heel, which can be changed into a shoe with a low heel. No more extra pairs of shoes in your bag, no more trouble driving a car or walking stairs, no more painful feet, no more knee and ankle damage." High tech mechanisms in the shoe let you just pull down the heel to release it, and then either fold it in to make it a low-heel or curve it out to make it a high heel. "The adjustment of the heel position automatically changes the curvature of the sole to fit the altered shape of the foot." Fancy that - a shoe that fits your foot! I'll take two (one of each).
