This compact, 60g MP4 player from EMTEC is designed to complement habitual users of Windows Media Player but is by no means limited to them. It's got 2GB of memory (which can be doubled using the built in SD/MMC card slot) and plays up to 20 hours of audio or two hours of video. Supported formats include MP3, WMA, AVI and MPEG4. Don't have an AVI file? You can pop along to EMTEC's website to download simple conversion software.
There is also an "Equalizer mode" which will enable better playback of music, and if it's the video you're really after then the 2.2" TFT horizontal screen ought to make for easy viewing (this assumes you don't mind watching on a small screen anyway). It's certainly worth taking a gamble on the C230, as it's just £65 (incl. VAT) from Amazon with a two year warranty. Available from September.
