Apple release new iPod (Just kidding. They revamped iLife)

Well, we predicted a new iLife, and a new iLife we got. iLife '08 has improved iPhoto and iMovie, as well as integrating easily into the newly created .Mac Web Gallery, where Mac users can host their photos, videos and music on one webpage. You can even add Google Maps to your webpage, for added interactive fun.

The new version of iPhoto automatically groups your uploaded photos into events, storing them by day and choosing one photo front cover to represent them all. From here, you can easily skim through them simply by holding your mouse over the front cover. iMovie has been redesigned to make creating videos dead easy, featuring a similar preview of video clips by holding your mouse over the icon in the same way as in iPhoto. The idea is that editing becomes as easy as editing a word document, just dragging and dropping clips about.

There's a new version of Garageband, called Magic Garageband, which allows you to pick from nine musical genres and interact with a band of “players” on a virtual stage by selecting an instrument and musical part for each player. Sounds, well, gimmicky.

The new suite is going to be included with new Macs from today, and is available to buy separately for £55. The .Mac web service costs £69 per year for one person, or £120 for a family pack, which includes one master account and four sub-accounts.
