Funny how we girls can't settle for the ordinary in the eyes of retailers. True, we shouldn't have to, but what is it about us girls that makes them think they have to paint a gadget pink or make it sparkly for us to think it's a desirable product? Whatever the answer, there's no doubt that sort of marketing works on us.
Sony have relaunched their E-series Walkman range now aimed at women. And it's designer. The Walkman E010 comes in a range of colours and courtesy of Japanese jeweller Abiste it's been decked out with the ever-popular Swarovski crystals. Thankfully the don't just look pretty, with features like a 30-hour battery life, a three-line colour LCD and a very impressive 3 minute charge function that gives you up to 3 hours playback time. The memory capacities and pricing are more or less standard - 1GB for ¥15,800 (£64), 2GB for ¥18,800 (£76) and 4GB for ¥24,800 (£100). They're available to pre-order for September now.
