Red Dwarf "best sci fi programme ever" according to poll

Flibble-1.jpgA Radio Times survey of 3,000 viewers has named Red Dwarf as the most popular sci fi programme ever. It should be noted that no-one could vote for Doctor Who on the grounds of it being "too obvious".

Rob Grant and Doug Naylor's tale of life aboard the Jupiter Mining Corporation's ship, lost in space three million years from home with the only surviving human on board, shoved the X-Files down the list to second place, followed by Lost, Life on Mars and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The Top 20 also included persistent favourite The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Sam Beckett's moralistic time-travelling in Quantum Leap and pinnacle of TV weirdness Twin Peaks.

Hell yes. Almost 20 years on and that first series still hasn't aged.
