How are your tooth brushing skills these days? Are you spending the recommended two minutes per session polishing your pearly whites? Are you using exactly the right amount of pressure on your teeth and gums? Don't worry, even if you're not, Oral-B's new Triumph toothbrush will soon tell you all about it. This, you see, is a toothbrush that provides instant feedback on your brushing. Oral-B say it's "like having a dentist with you in the bathroom", but actually, it's a lot less creepy than that.
Instead of an actual dentist, you get a microcontroller, which picks up signals from a microchip inside the brush, and displays information about your technique on an LCD display unit which can be mounted to the wall or mirror. The unit will track your usage, tell you when you're brushing too hard, make sure you clean for the optimal amount of time, and alert you when the brush head needs changing. Clever, no? It launches this September with a recommended price of £139.99.
