No gays in the online village: Facebook says so!

village.jpg

Of all sites, you would have though that Facebook would be open to all types of people; after all when signing up you can declare your sexual preference as male/female and your relationship status as married, complicated, or in an open relationship; which hints at a site not afraid to mock itself or to be taken too seriously. It's strange then that anyone unfortunate enough to be named Gay can't join the site as Facebook doesn't recognise that as a 'legitimate' sign up. It has no problem with Gaylords, Gaywads, or Gaydars, and Dykes run amok, but the sad Gays out here have to continue to live in a Facebook-free world. Some noteable Gays who may feel left out include American sprinter Tyson Gay, politician Duncan Gay and writer Gay Search. I doubt they'll be feeling too gay (sorry) when they discover that.
