Kameraflage technology could revolutionise pictures, or maybe just clothing

kameraflage.jpg It took me a few looks at this little picture to realise it's not advertising some mysterious camera phone (coughiPHONEcough) but in fact showing off some pretty nifty new technology called Kameraflage.

As you can see, the model's top only shows a lightning bolt in the photo of her, but this isn't some pointless photoshopping. Her tee is printed with context-sensitive display technology, developed by Sarah Logie and Connor Dickie, which works by using colors that are invisible to us but easily picked up by the silicon chips in digital cameras. More Kameraflage clothing will be demonstrated at the ACM SIGGRAPH Unravel fashion show on August 6 in San Diego. Pretty impressive tech that might stretch far beyond just clever clothing.
