It's T minus 69 hours if you're in the market for an iPhone in the US, but if you're in the UK you're going to have to be a little more ingenious about how you get your hands on one. Luckily, Tech Digest have come up with a few options (none of which involve violent robbery). But the first stop of every limited edition hunter has got to be eBay, and imagine my surprise when I found nothing short of 64 items all available now in the UK. So what exactly can you get?
Accessories: It's very much like buying the shoes before the dress, which as we know is a gamble the size of Monte Carlo. But if you dead set on getting an iPhone, why not start accessorizing it now.
Domain names: This is big business - iphonespares.com has a Buy It Now price of £3,000. There are even Gmail addresses going for a few quid here and there. If you don't yet have the money for an iPhone, this might be one way of making the moolah...
Concepts: The web is stuffed full of things worth billions of pounds which you can't actually hold in your hands, so it's no surprise that people are selling ideas on eBay. With a Buy It Now price of almost £2,000, you can buy the chance to create a kind of 'iPhone storage vault similar to YouTube' creating a 'virtual iPhone community'. Right.
A T-shirt: Admittedly, it has nothing to do with the iPhone, since it's a retail uniform for the Birmingham Bullring Apple Store, but this seller clearly knows how to work his keywords....
An iPhone: What? An actual unlocked iPhone? Well, no actually. Read a bit further and the seller has been forced by eBay to admit that this is in fact a copy. Apparently, he didn't mention this the first time because he thought bidders would just 'get it'. Yeah, right.
Information: I love these guys. They apparently have the knowledge, and can tell you (for a *very* reasonable fee) where you can get an iPhone for free! Yep, there are iPhones out there completely gratis. What nice guys.
